Can You Find the Need?

Have you ever seen a Highlights magazine? They include fun puzzles that have hidden objects in them. Your job is to find all of the hidden objects. Some are pretty easy to see and others are really hidden. I think about those puzzles when I think about compassion. Compassion is caring enough to do something about someone else’s need. The thing is, we have to SEE the need first. Sometimes we can get caught up in our own lives so much that we forget to look out for the needs of others. Sometimes their needs aren’t that easy to spot. And sometimes, even when we see the need, we choose to ignore it. This season is a great time to be on the lookout for hidden needs and when you find one, care enough to do something to make a difference!
